The Scunthorpe Quiz League has resumed after its Christmas break with the Cocked Hat now clearly leading the way after the latest round of matches. Robert Holme were unlucky on the night as they would have beaten any other team, but the Cocked Hat were on top form amassing 80 points. Elsewhere, the Cricket Club and the Eagles remained just about in touch with the Hatters after wins against Bunch and Sherpa respectively, but they will have to up their form dramatically if they are to overturn the Hatters dominance. St Bernadettes produced a victory over Dodgers which keeps them comfortably out of the bottom two.

Roll of Honour 2014-15
Season 2014-15 - A season played in the usual spirit and particularly poignant with the third death of a long-time member of the league within a space of a year. Sadly Steve Batty of one of the real stalwart teams of the league, The Panthers, passed away leaving his team sadly and disappointingly unable to take part in the league for the first time since its inception in 1983-84. Special mention this year to Ashby Star, who clearly had a liking for the new style questions and were unquestionably the most improved team of the season.Cricket Club were also greatly improved this year. Credit also to Cocked Hat who turned in consistently the best performances of the week and the highest scores. A massively disappointing season for STTC, last season's cup finalists really struggled to get to grips with the questions this year.
The questions themselves were undoubtedly a big improvement over recent seasons, with the only minor criticisms being the number of repeated questions and the increasingly narrow band of questions within a particular subject e.g. James Bond Films, Sea Forecast Areas, Football Managers, Charles Dickens characters, Radio presenters, The Archers etc. There was also a propensity to ask questions which were too closely paired.
