Britain's population is currently growing more than twice as
fast as the average in Europe. Projections show that Britain would at the
present rate become Europe's most populous country overtaking France and
Germany within 40 years. Britain's population growth in 2010 amounted to 30% of the total growth in Europe.
According to Governement statistics 2/3 of the rise are accounted for by immigration and 3/5 by 'natural' change (birth rate higher than death rate).
