Born in Salzburg, Austria.

His full name was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophillus Amadeus Gottlieb Sigismundus Mozart.

Mozart wrote his first opera, Mitridate Re di Ponto, in 1770 when he was only 14 years old.

Of the 41 symphonies that Mozart wrote, only two are in a minor key, both of which are in g minor (Symphony 25 & 40).

Mozart's music was often critisized as being too complex and "having too many notes".

Mozart was very good at mathematics. he liked to scribble mathematical figures all over walls and table cloths.

Mozart became a knight when he was presented with the Papal Order of the Golden spur as a boy.

He was given the Papal Order of the Golden Spur by the pope of Rome, Clement XIV. Mozart was given this honor because he wrote a complicated piece down on paper after hearing it only once! This piece was called Miserere by Gregorio Allegri.

Mozart composed over 600 musical works. Most composers write a far smaller number of music than 600 works.

Mozart composed: 50 symphonies, 25 piano concertos, 12 violin concertos, 27 concert arias, 26 string quartets, 103 minuets, 15 masses, 21 opera works.
