The Coral Sea lays claim to be the world's largest sea but it is not included in the following list due to it's marginal nature. (It forms part of the Pacific Ocean and is only partially enclosed by islands, archipeligos or peninsulas off Queensland's Coast). Further to this other such sea areas eg. Arabian Sea are difficult to quantify and may well appear in different orders on the list according to the sources used.
